PRAC 1200 – Pathophysiology

2 credits | Prerequisite: Acceptance into the Practical Nursing program | Corequisites: BIOL 1510, BIOL 1511, MATH 1135, and PRAC 1500

This course addresses the pathophysiology of selected disorders across the lifespan and the nursing implications of this knowledge.

PRAC 1300 – Pharmacology

2 credits | Prerequisite: BIOL 1510, BIOL 1511, MATH 1135, PRAC 1200, and PRAC 1500 | Corequisites: BIOL 1520, BIOL 1521, and PRAC 1600

This course introduces the nursing students to the pharmacologic practice of the licensed practical nurse.

PRAC 1500 – Practical Nursing Concepts I

5 credits | Prerequisite: Acceptance into the Practical Nursing program | Corequisites: BIOL 1510, BIOL 1511, MATH 1135, and PRAC 1200

This course introduces the Practical Nursing student to nursing care of the patient with normal findings.

PRAC 1600 – Practical Nursing Concepts II

5 credits | Prerequisite: BIOL 1510, BIOL 1511, MATH 1135, PRAC 1200, and PRAC 1500 | Corequisites: BIOL 1520, BIOL 1521, and PRAC 1300

This course will guide the Practical Nursing student to develop nursing knowledge and skills related to wellness, health promotion, and to care for the patient with basic chronic conditions.

PRAC 1700 – Practical Nursing Concepts III

7 credits | Prerequisite: BIOL 1510, BIOL 1511, BIOL 1520, BIOL 1521, MATH 1135, PRAC 1200, PRAC 1300, PRAC 1500, and PRAC 1600 | Corequisites: ENGL 1101

This course will guide the Practical Nursing student to develop nursing knowledge and skills related to wellness, health promotion, and to care for the patient with acute and chronic conditions.
